Osama bin Laden is dead. The world has been freed of its tyrannical oppressor, and can finally start to live the utopian daydream that we have been so close to attaining. All thanks go to our glorious leader, President Barack Obama. Wait a minute! Is our President being praised for killing someone?
Seriously, with the way people are dancing in the street about this news, you would have thought that there was free beer being handed out. It's alarming how many people are having their blood lust satiated by this barbaric act. It's like we're back in Rome, and we've got front row seats to the coliseum. But wait, that's not Caesar at the forefront, it's our supposedly caring leader Obama.
How he can go on T.V., and tell us to celebrate the death of anyone, even if they are the 'enemy of America', is beyond what I would classify as rational thought. You can just feel him trying to pander to the violent urges of Americans, just trying to win over those right winged capital punishment nuts.
What happened to the Obama I elected, the Obama that would rationally approach situations with some objectivity. The Obama who wouldn't celebrate the death of anyone. In closing, I want to give you a quote from MLK himself (that's Martin Luther King for those of you who aren't into abbrev.'s).
“I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
Lets hope we can all heed his words, and begin to bring rationality to this culture of bloodthirsty neanderthals.
